How an air-cooled heat pump works Mar 18, 2022

Air-cooled heat pump cold and hot water condensing unit is a unit that generates cold/heat in a centralized manner. It is in the form of a distributed air conditioning system for each room. The terminal device of the cold/hot water unit is usually a fan coil unit. Cold and hot water means that the unit can produce cold and hot water, which is the most common household water machine central air conditioning system in the family. It generates air-conditioning cold/hot water through the outdoor host, which is transported to the indoor terminal devices by the pipeline system. At the terminal device, the cold/hot water exchanges heat with the indoor air to generate cold/hot air, thereby eliminating the room air-conditioning load.

The refrigeration system mainly consists of a compressor, an Cold room air cooled condensers, an electromagnetic four-way reversing valve, a thermal expansion valve, a plate heat exchanger (cold storage evaporator or radiator) and ancillary parts, a liquid accumulator, a drying filter, and a liquid separator. and various switches.

The refrigeration cycle is used in summer and the heating cycle is used in winter. The change of the direction of the refrigerant completely depends on the action of the electromagnetic four-way reversing valve. The air cooled condenser is cooled by the exhaust fan, which releases heat in summer and the opposite in winter. In summer, the plate heat exchanger evaporates and becomes cold, and the chilled water is pumped away by the water pump and sent to the indoor fan coil to blow cold air to the room. In winter, on the contrary, the plate heat exchanger becomes a heater, and the hot water is pumped away by the water pump. The fan coil to the room blows warm air to the room.

The high and low pressure switches in the system play a role in pressure protection. When the pressure is too high or too low, the pressure switch will act to disconnect the compressor circuit to protect the compressor from damage. The purpose of the accumulator and separator is to separate the liquid refrigerant from the gaseous refrigerant to avoid liquid hammer (wet stroke) in the compressor.
